The Rehabilitation CNA is a non-licensed worker who is specially trained in ambulation; ADL’s, exercises and is under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Manager in consultation with the Rehab Therapist’s. The focus of the Rehabilitation CNA shall be on restoring or compensating for skills lost through disuse or changes in physiology that shall maximize and prolong the abilities of the resident. The Rehabilitation CNA shall seek to enhance the resident’s independence, self-image and self-esteem, reduce the level of care required, and eliminate or minimize degrading features such as restraints, and supervised feeding.
a. Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of New York State.
b. One (1) year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
a. Able to concentrate on detail with frequent interruptions.
b. Able to follow, complete and remember daily requirements and routines over the eight hour shift or longer.
c. Ability to understand concept of geriatric care.
d. Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
e. Pleasing personality and ability to handle the public and assist the residents.
f. Understanding and respect for confidential nature of the work.
g. Receptive to the needs of others, must be flexible, have a sense of humor and good communication skills.
