Responsible for the overall direction and management of all facility wide registration processes, staffing, payroll, budget, up-front collections, insurance verification, emergency registration functions, hospital ancillary, health centers, specialty appointment scheduling and the switchboard communication system.
The position is also responsible for data collection, patient rights and responsibilities, legal consents, accrediation regulations and third party payor regulations.
Responsibilities also include policy development, competency assessment, training programs, regulatory compliance, and financial responsibility, project and exceptional change management skills.
Responsible for participation in the implementation of technology inclusive of evaluating user needs and system functionality within the hospital as it relates to Patient Access. Job skills include technology design, systems analysis, operations analysis, quality control analysis utilizing complex problem solving and critical thinking skills. Managing situations, which may involve technical hardware and/or software problems in conjunction with Information Systems personnel.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop team members and produce outstanding results. Patient Access experience and minimum 3 years management experience required. Experience in healthcare operations or similar service required. Associate degree or equivalent experience required. Meditech knowledge preferred with experience building dictionaries and training super users on modules.
