Supervises and oversees the Patient Access Staff. Schedules working hours of Patient Access staff. Primary leader of and oversees training and retraining of Patient Access staff. Develops training manuals, written desk procedures and written procedures to support policies for the department. Triages and coordinates support requests for computer and software problems. Initiates and tracks the resolution of computer problems that staff have to escalate. Assists with the development and implementation of systems and processes to improve patient flow and quality of patient services. Perform Patient Access functions when staffing is low.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Supervisory preferred or previous experience in Patient Access duties. Customer service and clerical or secretarial experience required. Ability to greet patients face to face. Good diction and phone skills. Organizing and leadership aptitude. Medical terminology helpful, computer experience required. Demonstrated mid-level to advanced Microsoft Office suite skills.
