Position Summary

Administers the Adirondack Health Corporate Compliance Program in accordance with prevailing federal and state statutes and regulations, the Adirondack Health Corporate Compliance Plan, Adirondack Health bylaws, policies and procedures and prevailing best practices. Provides timely and relevant education to Adirondack Health staff in collaboration with the Employee Educator; as well as to the Medical Staff and the Board of Trustees.

 

Provides redundancy to enterprise-level programs administered and coordinated within the Division of Quality Clinical Support Services. Provides at the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and/or AVP for Quality/Risk, project support to members of senior and middle management in meeting newly published or significantly revised mandates that are consistent with this position description.

Qualifications

Requires actual experience of a suitable kind, nature and duration in healthcare compliance or quality monitoring activities. Knowledge of Medicare and other third party payer coding and billing regulations preferred. Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills. Has active Certification in Healthcare Compliance credential (CHC), or obtains within 18 months of hire.

 

Requires excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate complex regulatory issues to staff at all levels of the organization. Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with all levels of management; medical staff. Participates in relevant educational opportunities, drills, and relevant local and regional committees and work groups; updates and maintains professional knowledge and skills related to the management of areas of responsibility.  Excellent computer skills, MS Office and Meditech at a minimum. Proficient at web-based programs.

 

Requires a high level of organizational skills, as well as the ability to engage a wide variety of individuals
in effective teamwork, on occasion during times of high stress.
