  • Position Summary

    The primary purpose is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during the shift.  Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.




    1. Must be a RN currently licensed to practice in New York.
    2. 3 year experience in Long Term Care preferred.
    3. Demonstrates clinical and management skills needed to provide leadership to staff in the provision of resident care.
    4. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
    5. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
    6. Willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
    7. Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.



    1. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    2. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
    3. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
    4. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
    5. Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
    6. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
